Terms of Service
Last updated May 25, 2026
These Terms govern your use of TempoMinder — the parent dashboard at tempominder.com and the TempoMinder Mac app. By signing in or enrolling a Mac you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
The service
TempoMinder lets a parent set daily app limits, review foreground app usage, issue emergency offline codes, and grant temporary extra time on Macs they enroll into the service. The Mac app reports app usage and enforces limits locally; the parent dashboard shows that usage and accepts policy changes that are signed and synced back to each Mac. TempoMinder does not provide website blocking or browser history monitoring.
Eligibility
You must be an adult (the age of majority where you live) to create a TempoMinder parent account. You must be authorized to manage the Macs you enroll — for example, because you own them or because you are the parent or legal guardian of a minor who uses them.
Account responsibilities
You're responsible for keeping access to your sign-in email, password, two-factor authentication method, and backup codes secure. You're responsible for activity that happens under your manager account, including limits you set, overrides you grant, emergency codes you share, and managers you invite or remove. One family may have multiple manager accounts, and all managers have equal administrative authority in this version of the service. One family may enroll up to a small number of Macs (currently five); contact us if you need more.
Acceptable use
You agree not to (a) reverse-engineer the service except as permitted by law, (b) abuse the API or exceed published rate limits, (c) attempt to enroll Macs you're not authorized to manage, (d) circumvent or disable the watchdog daemon or login item shipped with the Mac app, or (e) use the service for any unlawful purpose. We may suspend access to accounts that violate these rules.
Privacy
How we collect and process information is described in our Privacy Policy. It's part of these Terms.
Service availability
We provide TempoMinder on an "as is" and "as available" basis. The service depends on third-party infrastructure (including Cloudflare, email providers, billing providers, and observability providers) and we don't promise uninterrupted availability. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features — we'll try to give reasonable notice for material changes that affect existing accounts.
Billing and cancellation
Paid subscriptions are processed by Lemon Squeezy. Prices, billing periods, taxes, renewal terms, and payment methods are shown during checkout. You can cancel an active subscription from Settings. A cancelled subscription remains usable until the end of the paid period shown in the dashboard, unless these Terms allow us to suspend access earlier.
No warranty
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TempoMinder is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the service will be error-free, accurate, or always available, or that enforcement will prevent every possible workaround a determined user might attempt.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TempoMinder and the people who build it won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses arising out of or related to your use of the service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or one hundred US dollars (USD 100) if you haven't paid us anything.
Termination
You can stop using TempoMinder at any time by unenrolling your devices, cancelling your subscription, or deleting the family account from Settings. Deleting a family account deletes the shared family for all managers and removes the enrolled Macs server-side. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we're required to disable for legal reasons. On termination, the sections that by their nature should survive (privacy, billing, fraud-prevention records, intellectual property, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute terms) will survive.
Changes to these terms
If we make material changes to these Terms we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and, where the change meaningfully affects existing accounts, send a notice by email. Continued use after the change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
